LIFE AN LEGENDS
Since 2014, Life and Legends has featured the work of over 800 poets, writers, and translators—including nominees for the Nobel Prize in Literature, recipients of the Pulitzer Prize, Poets Laureate of the United States, and other distinguished literary figures—alongside new and emerging voices from more than 150 countries.
Life and Legends published its first edition on Thursday, June 12, 2014—a rare Full Moon day that hadn’t occurred in nearly a century and will not return until June 2098. On that day, the Moon was in Sagittarius, the sign of the truth-seeker and truth-speaker—echoing the spirit of Maya Angelou’s poem “A Brave and Startling Truth,” which we saw as a quiet invocation and a guiding belief for us.
Life and Legends continues its commitment to publishing exceptional literature, inspired by that belief, with particular emphasis on poetry, translations, critical book reviews, in-depth interviews, and curated features that engage with the work of contemporary poets, authors, and literary translators from across the globe.
We encourage writers to engage with Life and Legends through our publishing initiatives and submit their work. To learn more, visit www.lifeandlegends.com.
