AS THE RIVER FLOWS
Silent River is an independent literary and media arts initiative established in 2010 with a distinct mission to discover, support, and celebrate voices in world literature and media arts. Over the years, it has developed into a dynamic platform dedicated to fostering meaningful creative expression and expanding access to publication and recognition for writers, poets, and artists across diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Through its key imprints and programs—River Paw Press, Life and Legends Magazine, and Silent River Films—Silent River creates opportunities for both emerging and established authors and creators. Books published by River Paw Press have received international recognition, including finalist distinctions at the International Book Awards and the Indie Excellence Awards, as well as the prestigious Hryhorii Kochur Award, conferred by the State of Ukraine, for a bilingual poetry collection in English and Ukrainian. Life and Legends Magazine serves as a global literary space that brings together voices from across cultures through poetry, translation, reviews, and interviews. Together, they uphold a standard of excellence that values both artistic integrity and meaningful engagement with the world.
In addition to its publishing and editorial work, the organization administers annual literary awards and competitions that recognize outstanding manuscripts and individual works, offering publication, visibility, and professional support. Building on this foundation, Silent River is also developing the forthcoming Silent River International Award, aimed at honoring published works in poetry and literary translation on a global scale.
Silent River continues to build an inclusive and evolving literary ecosystem—one that not only publishes and promotes work but also nurtures dialogue, cultural exchange, and the enduring power of the written and visual arts.
